Curriculum

One curriculum, from age 2 to 13.

GANCE blends the best practices of nine school systems into a single adaptive framework, so every scholar moves at their own pace while learning from many perspectives.

Jero and three children looking through a telescope

Four age groups

Ages 8–10
Young Innovators
Advanced literacy and applied math
Early coding, design thinking and cultural studies
Creative arts and STEM projects
A typical challenge · ages 8–10
Design a playground on a $500 budget.

Two courses that run through every age

Ages 5 to 13
The Socratic course

Scholars learn to ask good questions, test an idea and explain their reasoning. Jero plays the curious student, and sometimes gets it wrong so your child can set him straight.

Ages 7 to 13
GANCE Histories

Every child's story, told fairly. Scholars learn their own country's history, then see the same events through the eyes of neighbors and travelers.

Subjects

Subjects that cross borders

Modules weave several subjects together to reflect the real world. A module on climate change might bring together science, economics, history and ethics.

Inside a module

Every module follows the same seven steps

Each module is built around one central problem or project. μikor reorders, expands or condenses the steps for each scholar.

Engagement

Learning that feels like a quest

Quests and storylines

Modules are framed as stories, personalized to each scholar. A math module can become a budget for a fantasy kingdom.

Skill trees

Mastery is shown as a growing tree, and mastering a skill unlocks new tools and harder challenges.

Their own space

Each scholar gets a learning space to customize, plus creative sandboxes to build in.

Global projects

Scholars work with peers around the world on shared challenges.
